Local Care Midwifery, PLLC Awarded ACNM Best Practice 2017

Annual List Recognizes Labor, Birth and Perinatal Outcomes

Troy, NY, May 24, 2018 – Local Care Midwifery, PLLC was recently recognized as a Best Practice 2017 by the American College of Nurse-Midwives.

Best Practices are recognized for outstanding clinical and resource utilization outcomes, as well as for meeting nationally established benchmarks. The “Four Core” Best Practice designation acknowledges practices that achieve nationally established benchmarks for physiologic birth: low induction of labor, low primary cesarean birth rate, low episiotomy percentages, and high rates of exclusive breastfeeding within the first 48 hours. “Triple Aim” Best Practice recognizes practices which meet the Institute for Healthcare Improvement “Triple Aim” of improving the patient experience, reducing cost of care, and improving the health of populations. This is demonstrated by high breastfeeding rates, low preterm birth rates and low cesarean rates.

Local Care Midwifery, PLLC (LCM) has received both the Four Core Best Practice and Triple Aim Best Practice distinctions, as well as Best Practice By Volume. LCM is the only Capital Region practice to receive these honors.
